IDEA
: We consider mastering both, a creative and a technical process. Based on in-depth listening sessions, it not only includes overall sweetening, equalization and dynamics adjustments, but also cleanses your music of unwanted remaining noises, clicks and distortions. With your input and by bringing in a fresh and specific perspective on your mixes, we realize a sound concept that turns raw material into a consistent, well-rounded and nuanced listening experience well fitted to the medium preferred, be it a Vinyl record, CD or digital album. We will ensure that your music will, once it is out there, translate well onto the various media of contemporary music reception. To achieve this, our studio is equipped with an array of lovingly arranged analog and digital signal processors by HEDD, RME, SPL, Rupert Neve Designs and Gyraf Audio.

MASTERING ENGINEER: The studio was founded and is run by Dr. Frederik Knop, mastering engineer and co-founder of the Berlin based speaker company HEDD. Before becoming fully dedicated to the art and techniques of mastering music, Freddy was professionally immersed in the academic field of 20th century music and audio technology (Technical University Berlin, University of Hamburg, HdPK Berlin), teaching an researching with a focus on classical and popular music composition and theory. Freddy released experimental music with various international labels such as Mush Records (Los Angeles, CA), Circle Into Square (Portland, OR), and Creaked Records (Lausanne, SU). He is also one third of the Berlin based puzzlerock trio mOck.
